Default Cam decision.

Trying to figure out what I am going to do so much back and forth..lol
I'm running a 235/244 620/612 on 114+1 ly6 with l92s I ordered a set of forged pistons flat top with reliefs, gonna order a set of scat rods and mill the heads 40thou to get the compression where I want it. I spoke to Derek at Texas speed he told me to just keep my cam but after running the ms4 in my lq9 with 243s I really want something bigger. Car drives everywhere at 3500+rpm has a th350 3600stall 3.50 gear with fab housing 9" i dont care about driveability/mileage etc. Just want the most outta my setup any advice guys?
LY6 forged flat tops / milled L92s big cam.

I would think the MS4 cam would be a good fit with the 243 heads on a 6.0. Personally I wouldn't want much bigger than that cam

Both of those cams are completely wrong for what you are doing. They will likely both be total dogs in a single plane equipped 6 liter.

How much does this car weigh?

2890. I had a friend tell me to run a cam like his old one. 255/266 663/650 112 with the super victor and the compression im going to be bumping.

There is a relationship between compression and cam design for sure, but there are a lot of factors in choosing the right cam specs for maximum performance in an application.

According to what you have said so far, here is your combo:

#2890 raceweight?
LY6 6.0 liter with 12:1-13.5:1 compression? Racefuel?
Factory square port heads
Single Plane Intake (super vic 4150)
Th350 trans
3600 stall
3.50 rear gear

Even if this is a race only, street/strip application with 12:1 or greater compression running on race fuel, there are still some parameters of your build that are not ideal for a large duration high winding race-style camshaft.

What RPM are you planning to shift at? Are you going to be putting in good aftermarket connecting rods with your new forged high compression pistons? Are you running a carburetor or EFI?

Have you read through this thread yet?

Just off the top of my head, something like 236/250@.050, .615/.620 lift on a 110 with a little advance in it would be in the ball park. That's just thinking if comparable setups, I don't have much experience outside cathedral ports yet.
