Are you painting the whole car?

Interesting cam specs, who came up with that one?

Nope, outside original and mint

Yes, a little different. Aim is peak hp around 7700 so heads were down to get the best VE at that rpm. Cam specced by bullet, we dropped the lsa a tad though.

Heads and intake finally back from porter, quick dummy of what we are working with. Cam still not arrived from bullet but have another solid roller 261/278 717/720 114 lsa on 110 icl (more for nitrous) we might break in the engine with

Starting to put car together. Hopefully have it sorted by the time engine is done. Going to get another diff made a little shorter so i can run 255 radial on those rims for the factory look

yesterday went down to cranbourne and hit the jackpot, dude selling the parcel shelf had virtually all the little trim and mechanical bits a pieces that i was after. then today hit my other wrecker mate for other miscellaneous bits, then rarespares and finally jaycar.

also played more with engine, whilst we wait for valves and cam. although i think we will order the cam again locally. put on the mechanical fuel pump with reg etc, put onthe water pump (need to cut down spacer 3/4") and also started working on a spot for the vacuum pump

compared to old set-up

Went thru final engine build details today with my buddy. Got to do a little bit of machine work with inlet face of heads, flycuts, shortening water pump spacers and fitting vac pump mandrel on balancer. But rest is straight forward. Picked up a mistake in cam order. Seems my jesels are 1.7 instead of the 1.8 i ordered for cam. So instead of 747 lift only 706. 256/265 706/706 106.

It may be blessing in disguise with better geomtry, less spring abuse, less valve abuse, less ptv issues etc

Also weighed the Stainless valves i got are 112 gram for hollow intake, 94 gram solid exhaust. Will work well with pac 1335 springs

Got a 5200 dominator from old combo, think 9.5 or 10". Probably use that to start, as i see it pushing out to 5500+

Manifold fits, got vac mandrel fitting, shortened water pump spacers and fitted bleed for heads. Need to grind out entry on pipes. Waiting on pushrods, valvesprings and couple gaskets, then button her up.

Are these going to seal okay? Looks like no material left to properly support the valve cover seal where you have machined them for rocker clearance.

No choice. Jesels really angle back over the rail with these heads

I am excited to see your results. How much valve lash does your new cam specify?
