Think something small broke off, as there are some marks on piston looking through plug hole and plug strap pushed in. Nothing came out exhaust port thankfully.

Ptv should be fine as i rotated it by hand checking the lash for couple hours when we swapped out pushrods and its only one valve.
It ran for 30-60s but wouldn't idle due to a big air leak.
It will be back

Maybe it did break the valve after all.
My thoughts also.
That may often work for a mild cam deal, and only one tends to break in these situations. Hopefully it doesn't look too bad when you remove the head.

On closer inspection block was a little beat up, but all square and round now. Bores torque plate honed 0.005", bore 1 had a 0.003" taper :o . Evidence of main caps walking, so arp main studs added and align honed

Engine builder is really keen as well. Dummy fit of the +9cc domed pistons with the small 54-56cc chamber, looks like pistons will fit without too much play, so possible 14.x:1 comp. Means we can really lean on it, especially with confidence in all areas top end and now bottom end. Lot of little oiling mods to crank and block also been done. The benefits of an engine builder that does all his machining and even head work.
