We just scored some huge hp billet lunati rods for my engine, last set from supplier. Finishing off crank, just need to knife edge and toss reluctor

After some chat today, to keep the quench good we will run a 40 thou gasket. Crunching some numbers puts compression at ~14.9:1 with + 9cc dome and 54cc chambers. So apart from my e85 carb, looks like we will be testing his race carb with ms109 and roo16.

Need to borrow a methanol carb to try that and probably borrow some 1 7/8 pipes.

Good problems to have. Having cold sweats that 675-700hp possible on jungle juice with vac pump

How much weight did you have to put back in the crank?

I've never seen a knife edged factory crank. Only aftermarket. I assume the equal amounts from all of the throws keeps the balance?

Not balanced yet.

However my engine builder mate doesn't think it will be an issue though. As its a light rotating assembly and at worst can lighten pistons

what's the purpose of knife edging a crank? I've never seen it done.

Allows the crank to cut threw the oil a lot easier, helps with oil deflection.

Correct. Also to drops some weight which will help weight wise and allow to spin up faster. Which is big deal when peak will be up around 8000rpm
