Are you talking about the episode where chicago took an hour to drag their lane, lit it on fire and pull spraying trailers with drums full of VHT up and down the street? Thats not the street racing...it's track. Then they ran in the rain. Dave should have called the race after the rain started. He had the ***** to go on with it.

Name 1 street race where they bring professional equipment to prep a lane.

I did indeed. I was able to run a 5.88 and back it up with a 5.87. I also managed my best ever 60' of 1.29. That run felt pretty good off the line, but I experienced some surging down track that killed a couple MPH.

Sorry to hear that Matt. I was actually fighting a bug all weekend myself. I hope she is feeling better.

Very cool Doug. Thanx for sharing that!

Chevelle Rob of Dragzine got the best picture that I have seen of the big girl this weekend. Chris Simmons got a nice shot too.:

Here is a Gif excerpt made from Motor Mania TV's excellent race coverage:

The first pass in the Dragzine photo was all in on the hit. It went 5.88 with a 1.29 60'. The pass in the video was 50% on the hit and all in by .8 seconds. It went 1.31 60' and 5.87.

I turned the progressive on to reduce the wheel stand. I guess I needed to go 25%. LOL.

My first time of many in sure, to weld the axle tubes to the housing and install braces. Looking forward to the before and after results of factory suspension to UPR and anti roll with the gear swap. High expectations that will probably fall short, lol.

I know you are on a budget and all, but I have to tell you that when you weld an axle tube they move. In a fab/chassis shop, they install an alignment bar after the welding then straighten the axle tubes to correct the distortion caused by welding. The tool looks like this:

normally it requires cutting the housing ends off and realigning them. i was going to do a back brace on mine this winter then decided maybe not.

Sometimes you can get it back by stick welding lengthwise on the axle tubes. The welding draws the axle tube toward the welded side.

Yes, in the interest of keeping them as straight as I could, I spot wells 8 opposing points. Then make the spots bigger until I'm satisfied enough to bead them all together. I spot weld in a pattern like 8 lugs on a wheel. 12 o clock, then 6. 3 and then 9. You get the idea. All in hope that it tags together and doesn't pull any particular direction. Learned this from some friends a while back that have never had issues. But, in the interest of perfection, I will have a jig for making sure they are straight eventually. I just knew I needed to weld then before the gas goes on. Seen the 8.8 in cars like this bend the tube in the housing.

Mustang does feel great with the 4.56 in the back with the suspension. The butt dyno cannot tell since it pretty much has a useless first gear at the monent. The 3.73 were a little more usable with the radials.
