Default Carb vs fuel injected. Tuning

I have a few ls fuel injected cars. Street cars. Looking to build my s10 which has a fuel injected 5.3 into a street drive/ drag truck. 1.8 and 1.4 mile. Looking to build it and slam it with sray or maybe a single turbo. People say carbs are easier to tune. Is this true? Who like what. Thanks for your help

i've had several EFI setups. had hp tuners and grew frustrated mainly because i got HP tuners once i was way too far into the game to start learning the basics of tuning. i had help from a good buddy of mine and we eventually nailed my EFI tune down, but he tunes a lot of vehicles in houston and i never would have figured it out on my own. my s10 is my first carb setup and i've picked it up 100X easier than EFI. i have a 236/242 110+4 in a stock 6.0 and it fired up first turn of the key and drove perfect with no surging, bucking and stalling at red lights. good luck doing that with EFI on a 100% new build.

there is definately a place for EFI. 3 of 4 of my vehicles are efi. hell even my 4wheeler is efi. for a weekend toy / track runner, so far i LOVE the carbureted setup and i've never touched a carb in my life up until about 9 months ago.

If you are deep into EFI and know it inside and out, a carb is usually still great for older rides and then super/turbo applications they don't need an innercooler usually. So they have ups and downs.

I want to use the Holley self learning EFI when I get ready to go with boost, but damn, the price for it is not that bad till you realize all the ther stuff is not included, fuel pump, injectors, intake, mass air, TB, fuel rails, regulator, the list adds up so fast it is rediculous.

So, sweet, simple and never to be underestimated, the carb wins most of us over in this section.

i have the hp tuner and have heard theres a learner or school dvd or I've seen online classes to learn how to really use it. After paying 600.00 dollars for a dyno tune and 3000.00 on a blown tranny, screw it i try myself.
Thats why i want to build the S-10 with the carb and smack it with 300. or more.
