Default Mustang coupe build ALOT OF PICTURES

Well I been on this site for a long time and finally got a ls powered car. 89 coupe. Here's the story behind the car.

I traded it in Nov of last yr for a 99 f250 I had. Truck was in ok shape so me and the guy agreed to trade. I pulled the f250 from Baton Rouge la to Atlanta ga and made the swap. Car had all the good swap parts, 1 7/8 dynatech headers, aje kmember, fully built rearend, and many other great parts so I did the swap. Motor was a low mileage 5.3 that the guy told me had a small comp cam with 241 heads. Took the car to the track and got it down to 12.4 @111 the first time out. Second time it rolled a rod bearing. Well when I pulled the motor down it had a lot of miles and stock can. But Ok no big deal still happy cause all the great parts on the car.

Well this is were it got real for me. I tore the car down to a shell and started over. 10pt cage, thru the floor subframes, changed the fuel system to aeromotive eliminator pump with 10an line to the front and 6an back. Put a standalone fuel system up front with a holley blue. Changed all the interior to black with Scott rod rear delete in the back and kirkey sets up front.
The motor is a 370ci 6.0 with a set of lightly ported 317's and a Futral cam. Super Vic intake done my Larry meaux and a pro systems carb. Only factory wiring left is the headlight and taillight harness. I put all leash electronics in the car to control it all and built a control board for it. Got the car running about 2wks ago and plan to take it to the track in the next wk or so.

Sorry for all the pictures.

Update on car. We took it on Oct.5th and ran it a few times to see how it would do and didn't get to make any changes to the car. Made 5 passes. Cars best pass that day was a 10.97 at 126 shifting it at 6500 on motor.

Today we went back with a goal of getting the car dialed in on motor so we could spray it on the next outing. Well we made 9 passes total and started out with the timing as oct 5th 30* flat across from 1000rpms and shifted it at 7000. First pass was a 10.69 at 127. Moved timing to 32 and car slowed down to a 10.77 126. Put it at 29 and it went 10.66 at 127. Happy with timing we decide to try leaving just above idle and car slowed down. Last pass I got on the convertor hard and left at 3000 and car ran a 6.78@102.72 to the 1/8 and 10.61 128 out the back. I'm so impressed with this lil motor. We scaled the car saturday and it weighed 2705 with out and the bottle. With me and a full bottles it weight 3030.

Po man transbrake. Lol. Turbo 350 doesn't have a brake. So we put two line locks to lock the front and rear tires and the same time and put it on the two step and let it eat.

Doesn't read like its a 'stock' 6.0. He said its a 370 with ported heads, cam, and ported super vic. Not to take any thunder away from big countrys car though. Impressive non the less. Runs almost identical times as my 67 lq9 swapped car.

Big Country, where in La. are u located?

Movin alright.

Would think it go a bit faster or get to mid to low 10s. Probably need a bit more convertor, say 4500-5000. Or even 3.9-4.11s

10.61 is a mid 10 in my book. Weather just starting to get good out here in southern Louisiana so, I'm sure he will see some 40s for sure.
