Altanator problem
I have no computer in the truck what so ever. I just bought a brand new altanator it's a dr44g. How do I go about hooking this up and not burning it up witch I have already done 3 times. Someone please help. Tried the light but I used an led and I read that wouldn't work tried the 470 ohm resistor and when I tested the other side of the resistor it still showed 12v. I have a brand new altantor and just wanna do it step for step right. I do have a ignition hot fuse box so let's start from there. Thanks you

Sounds like your trying to get the volts down for a Silverado or PCM controlled alternator. Some reading for you.

I run my alternator unplugged in my g-body. I had the light in line, didn't seem to do anything. Unplugged it, been running it all summer long and it puts out a steady 13.5 volts at all times.

Thanks for helping. I'm gonna try just the one wire like they say in the yellowbulley forum. I have 4 electric fans and 2 50inch rigid lights in the truck that pretty much stay on all the time. Thanks for helping
