i noticed that the front left picked the tire off the ground about 1.5" on first pass and left stayed planted. might be worth putting another 1/4 turn preload in the anti-roll bar.

Glad you can see what it is doing. Surely will be a rocket again once you get the back end to bite. Ultra glad to see you are at the point of no parts failure. Keep on keepin on man!

Very little spin of the line, and the shocks look to be set pretty close to where it wants to be....Great Job

I just put Vikings on the rear of my car, and I have Afco's on the front....
I like them both, but the vikings seem to have a greater range of adjustment, they go from stiffer to softer than the AFCO's

I would run Viking in a heart beat. maybe the afco is just better suited for a manual transmission setup?

The car worked great at South Mountain. The re-valve on the struts is just about on point. car wants to pull the tires about 3" or so at the moment. I'm thinking we may try to get it to wheelie much harder, then back it off. I got a chance to look over the data from last year and this year. last year the car was running 6.67-6.70. this year it ran 6.54-6.55, and the DA was basically the same between the 2 outings. We went into the 3rd round before being put out by a hole-shot victory from my opponent. It was close, less than .002 margin of victory. We both thought I won actually, as I was pretty sure I went around him (he was dialed a slower 6.77). That Saturday I entered the car show at Carlisle. The car got a lot of attention, but did not bring home any trophies. It's not a beauty queen after all so no surprise. I did enter the car into the burnout contest. We had 3 minutes to smoke them up, or until parts failure. I wasn't interested in putting 3 minutes of stress on the car, or risk tearing up anything with a tire failure, etc, so I just did a 20 second burnout. However, it was loud and VERY smokey and was good enough for 2nd place, which gave me a $100 voucher for any SLP product.

This past weekend I was first round fodder again at the Pro Stick race at Mason Dixon Dragway. We only got 1 round of testing and then straight into eliminations. DA floated around 2400'. The car ran excellent, a 10.19 followed by a 10.18, but a big ole red light kept me from advancing. It's been a hard year figuring out the tree, and I have now red lit first round at all 3 pro stick events I have attended. 60's were great though, a 1.40 and a 1.39 in the heat ain't shabby!

I have the next 5 weekends off from racing, but I'll still be very busy. One of my Mu11et Militia members is coming over this weekend for a roll bar install. Next week I'm going to Louisiana for some family stuff. The following weekend I'll be doing some wrench turning on the Dirty Bird (my cousin's GTA). The 4th weekend in July I will be heading to GA to pick up my mom's 84 Firebird and her new 4.8/4l60e drivetrain for install over the fall. Then 1 week break and I'll be going to Colonial Beach Raceway on the first weekend of August. If I can squeeze a test-n-tune day in before then, I will, but it's not looking good, lol!

here are a few pictures from the last 2 weeks.

after 5 weeks of no racing, we had several options for this weekend to find some place to race. There was a Pro Stick race at Colonial Beach, which is a little 1/8 mile track in VA. it's about a 3.5 hour haul from us and had us going around DC to get there. Another option was to go to Cecil County Dragway for an Outlaw Street Car Shootout race, where i can run the Pro Dial class (bracket class on a pro tree, love that class). or my last option was to go to Capitol no Friday to test. we opted to go test instead of compete. it was honestly a great time. i am trying to get the car to repeat, which it now does. i also wanted to work on the tree, which i finally found the tree the last run of the night.

I met a buddy from facebook/umtr forums named Tom Friday evening as well, he had a go-pro so we stuck it to the side of the car for some angles i don't normally get. these turned out really cool.

also put the Flip back inside the car and got the camera off my helmet. i'm actually glad we did this. turning the camera on my helmet on was always a distraction.

and a few slo-mo's of the launches as well. i'm pretty happy with how it's working considering the xerox'd time slips, lol!

Awesome man. I may not be 100% done with the shop, but watching you test reminds me of what I'll be looking forward to doing again pretty soon.

anyone got any ideas on how i can shed .15 so i can run 9's in the 2300'+ DA i'm seeing right now? lol. i'd love to say i have a 9 second ride all year long. i'm already .2 faster than last year, but wonder what else i might could do. a larger carb might get me there...i'm only on a 750 cfm old school holley with a proform center. would rather not do anything internal to engine though. i know i can't take another 150 lbs out of the car without really sacrificing either. hmmm....thoughts?

Surely try a bigger carb. Not sure where you can still cut weight but you know that helps. Stroke that bastard up next season. Lol

Those are two good ideas. Less weight is always good. And 1000 cfm main bodies are cheap.

Double check you're getting WOT (has happened to me), As said earlier a bigger carb, possibly an air pan? ( some people seem to have luck with them), expirement with carb spacers, I don't know how heavy your wheels are but maybe there are lighter alternatives, gun drill axles. Just spit balling here
