Default Please critique my next build

I am starting another 6.0 build for another circle track car. This car will be heavier than the sprinter but run the same 1/4 mile oval on ice. I am extremely pleased with how the last 6.0 went but the next motor could use a bit more power since the car will be heavier.

2009 6.0 L76 aluminum block, crank, and rods - stock bore, DOD disabled
12cc dome JE pistons (not carved in stone just yet)
ARP rod bolts, rods oversized .002
L92 heads, untouched other than milled for flatness. Comp trunion upgrade
.051 headgaskets
The cam will probably be similar to what I have now. Martin ground it and it has not disappointed so I will rely on his knowledge for the next one
225/240 @ .050" - .612/.589 lift on a 109 LSA with 4 degrees advance
(this will probably change with the higher compression of this motor)
BTR dual springs
LS7 lifters, trays
Kevco circle track pan, ported oil pump shimmed bypass valve
1 and 3/4 primary headers to 3" collectors, race mufflers
Pro-Systems 4150 carb on a Vic Jr. intake. Patrick's carb was simply flawless on the last 6.0

That is about the meat and potatoes of what I have so far in my mind. I am hoping the compression bump will help as it will be up from 11:1 to about 12.5:1. I only run 100 octane low lead on these motors so I don't think detonation will be an issue. The last motor seemed to like 35 degrees of timing, I might take a degree or two out of the next motor, I'll have to see what it likes.

Any other tips or advice you seasoned LS guys have would be greatly appreciated.

With the added weight of the new car, added compression and having no real limitation on timing events due to added valve relief depth the JE pistons will have the cam will definitely be different this time around.

Hopefully it will haul butt just like the sprinter does!

Thanks for the input Martin.

Care to take a guess at how much more power this motor would potentially make with the compression bump and the cam you want to grind for it?

Edit: Would there be any benefit to running 317 heads as opposed to the L92's? I know that will totally change the cam specs, but I have no intentions of spinning this thing over 7000.

20-30hp would be my guess.

I'd personally go with L92 heads and lighter LS3 intake valves.

Stick with rectangle heads, hollow valves are bonus but not required

I'd stay with a single beehive over doubles for that size cam, take it easy on valve train

I did similar 6.0 but factory pistons, decking the rectangle heads 100thou to get 11.9:1 comp, single beehives, 236/246 615/615 110lsa, made ~530hp on e85
