What size jets would you guys start of with?

Motor is a 5.3 with holley single plane, 228/230 .600/.600 110 cam, 1 3/4 longtubes with single chamber flows.

Carb is a proform 750 race series carb that currently has 74/84 jets (factory size) in it. 6.5 powervalve

It runs pretty rich

When you say it "runs rich" do you mean at idle and cruise or at WOT?

If tune my carb using the A/F meter it always smells rich as well. But if I tune it by highest rpm and vacuum it seems to not smell as rich. I got my best times with 74-84 so far.
