Are those main caps splayed? And what is the machined piece where the oil pan bolts to? Looks nice and I love the intake and carb setup!

they are splayed main caps on the dart ls block
Those machined rails are to adapt a moroso sump to the block
Normal ls or lsx blocks are skirted and that's part of the engine block
The ls next has a different rail design to help windage and stability under revs

are you putting back the windage issues of an oem design block by using those pan rails?

No mate because it runs dart little m style main caps that do not connect up to those rails in anyway
So eliminates 90% of the issue by not being seperate windage sections and allows air to flow through out motor not individual sections
They only bolt there to allow an ls sump to bolt on
Traditional skirted blocks have main caps locked against the sides of block leaving nowhere for air to flow
Dart have done a great job especially with the oiling design also

Totally awesome.

Wikipeida says Torana comes from the Aboriginal word "to fly".

Sounds about right.

About 2750 pounds American weight. Not bad. Anything under 3000 lbs is always good.

My last mustang was probably 1200kg, but was thrown together and didn't run optimal. Nothing on the same level of the engine you are building.

When you have 7 vehicles, money doesn't go as far as those that have 1 or 2, lol.

The combo should have 750 in it without the spray

Who's built motor?
