whats the biggest off the shelf cam i can put in my stock 2006 5.3 without coil bind and safe valve to piston clearance. engine is currently stock with the exception of a victor jr and quick fuel 750 . i may spray it with a 200 shot . i have a 3500 stall converter with a th350 manual valve body and 3,50 gears . this will mainly be used for street but my run strip once in a while.

it would have to be a low lift cam under .550 lift. Y not go ahead and install springs and go with the correct cam for that combo. It really needs a nice cam. NOT a cam that's works with stock springs.

Get some BTR duals and a cam around 230s duration and 108-110 lobe separation. Will run like hell! Good luck!

Biggest is not necessarily the best for your application. The real question is what is the "correct" camshaft for your application, desired driving characteristics and performance goals. What is the car and how much does it weigh? What kind of idle do you want?
