Default Carb'd 5.3

Hope someone can give me some direction. I took a 58 tooth engine converted it to a 24 tooth engine. I put the 1x camshaft gear on and installed a 1x camshaft sensor. I am the non programmable ls1 box. The engine now only back fires and pops out the carb. The previous engine ran just fine. The only thing different is the cam sensor, plug!

First thing I would do is find TDC on #1 cylinder, make a pointer and mark the balancer. Spin the motor over and check with a timing light.

I also remember something about swapping the wires at the cam sensor when doing a swap like yours....BUT wait for someone with more knowledge on this to chime in

The cam sensor on a 24 rel. has A & C wires reversed from the 58.
Also the 24 rel. used +12V to the cam, crank sensor, the 58 uses +5V.
Try and swap A & C on the cam sensor first-some adapter harns. have it swapped already.
