Default Where to find a really nice restored 69 Camaro?

I know 2 guys here just bought 69s. Nine Ball and Steve2000SS or something. Where did you guys find them?

My father is looking to buy a 69 Camaro like he had when he was my age. He wants it to be fully restored, no rust. No modern drivetrain stuff, carb engine/crate motor/whatever. Didn't mention a big block or anything. He has about $35k to spend. Think it's do-able?

Its probably do-able, but it is most often better to buy a project that someone does not have the time to finish. That way you can get most everything, and just do assembly. Ebay is a great source for this kind of stuff. Another way is to do as much as you can yourself, like interiors, which for example a complete resto on a 1949 caddy convertible costs upwards of $8k.
Good luck

Hehehe, click-happy!

Project is pretty much a no-no. While I'd love it (despite having 2 of my own), he is getting older (53) and is extremely busy. He wants something nice that is basically perfect, and he can cruise on the weekends with it. Maybe take it to some shows. He pretty much gave up his gearhead ways when he had kids, way back when. Doesn't do much wrenching anymore other than oil changes and such.

Oh yeah, and I've been perusing ebay and hemmingsmotornews.com. Just trying to get some real world advice. I bought both my Camaro and my Corvette from messageboards (corvetteforum and here on ls1tech)

Let the hunt begin. I bought both my 69 and 68 from friends. I personally do not like e-bay because I have to see and touch things. E-bay scares me. Go to car shows or even a local race track. My 69 was bought from a guy that we knew from the track. He was about to get a divorce and y'all know how that story goes.

Good luck, I think that half the fun is looking for one.

I almost forgot pick up a local "Classic Car Trader". This will also give you late night reading material.

Ebay cars seem overpriced for me. I don't want to bid on a car, I want to know what the seller wants to sell it for and buy it. Plus, I don't like that "buyer needs to send payment in 7 days" crap, that leaves you less time to negotiate or fly/drive out to see the car in person.

I found my 69 on

For $35K you can for sure find a nice 69 Camaro.

You may want to hire someone to help you evaluate the cars that you look at if you don't know what to look for.
