Default How to tell the diff 2000-2001

I have a z28 and when I bought it, it was advertised as an 01. I found a sticker in the car that was obviously a dealer thing that they put on the keys that says the type of car and stuff and it said it was a 2000. I know the differences on paper, but I can't tell just by looking at it. Its not a big deal really, I would just like to know.

On your vin# the tenth digit is a Y for 2000 and a 1 for 2001. Anything else doesn't matter.

Checked the vin#, it's an 01. It has what I believe is egr on it though. Two hoses running into either header at the top. Hmmm I wonder about that.

That's the secondary air system.

Yea, those two hoses running to the top of the manifolds is the air system.

If you had egr it would run to the intake just behind the Throttle body.

EGR runs to the top center on the intake directly behind the throttle body.

On 01 and 02 cars the "indention" is there.

the block off plates are fine but if you unplug the AIR system it will throw a service code. you have to get it tuned out.
