Default Need a write up on pinion seal replacement

Anyone have a good link to one? The front one on my 99 Camaro is leaking. I tried searching but no luck. Thanks!

be very careful if you change the seal, you have to get the torq perfect when you put the nut back on so that you don't loosen the crush sleeve. i didn't get it perfect and ended up having to rebuild my rearend cuz of it!

Thanks for the info. I will probably have this done with the part supplied by me so they don't rape me on parts. If they mess it up they can have the pleasure of rebuilding it!

the pinion seal itself is only like $15 so your gonna pay alot more in labor. they will probably want to add more parts like the crushsleeve in order to guarantee the work.

I realize that the part is cheap. I found it online for $12. Who knows what they will charge for the same part.

my buddy who is the service manager at a chevy dealer told me that just changing the seal is always a gamble, not even at the dealer do they get it right. hope you have better luck than i did! i gambled and i lost
