Default worth it? SLP SS

k guys, i was planin on buyin a 5th gen but a deal came along that im thinking is gonna be a much etter guy at the end of the day. A good friend of mine is selling his Red 02 SS. Heres a little about the car... It is an SLP SS, all the original documentation, never rain driven, clean as the day it rolled of the assymbly line. Hes the original owner. Cars not stock, its an M6, has Kooks LTs, Corsa catback, pro 5.0 shifter, volant intake, some under hood dress up (stainless stuff). He plans to throw in the stock 10 spokes along with the c5 zo6 wheels that are on it. He also plans to give me the diablo sport tuner he has for it (im not a huge fan of diablo sport but either way) I believe it has a few other little odds and ends bolt ons but thats the gist of it. Appearance wise its fairly stock but everythings imaculent. Milage is roughly 25000. His asking price is 17500 to me as he wants to see it go to a good home. He just bought a C6 Z06 and has no need for the car anymore. Ive been wanting to get back into something lsx powered for awhile and i want sometihng to drive while i overhaul the t/a this summer. Let me know what you guys think!

I'd say get it, sounds like a very clean, well maintained car. As the years go on these cars will be more in demand. Let us know what you decide oh and throw up some pics if you get it.

Wow, a SLP SS.

I think the price is a tad high. I'd say around $15k in today's market.

I agree that the price is a tad on the high side. Although that mileage is next to nothing and it has some nice mods. If he will take less Id definitely do it.

Today's market sucks for sellers; that price sounds a bit high to me for a modified car, even one that's been taken care of as well as you say. Just my thoughts.

Cool man, let us know how it goes! Try to talk him down a bit more. In this market, he's not going to get a lot of people looking and definitely not a lot willing to pay that much. Can't wait to see pics!

The problem is it's his friend. That puts him and his friend in a precarious position when it comes to pricing.

I don't know about you guys but I'm straight up with my friends when it comes to buying or selling stuff. I do out the numbers and show them my exact reasoning or find other examples on the market and show them that. If they don't want to sell it for that price and I don't want to pay more than makes sense to me, then we don't make the deal. No hard feelings and it doesn't affect the friendship in any way. It's simple business and I would hope something this simple wouldn't cause problems between two friends. That's just silly.

I'd offer $15K, but sounds like you talked yourself out of it.

Yea, he already has a buyer lined up so im certain its going to a good home. Ive decided im going to start hunting for an ls1 parts car instead and go from there. Do the entire swap... i know i know, not worth it but like i said, i dont plan to get rid of mine so its arbitrary to me lol

You 100% sure on that? I thought there were just some base ones that only had like the hood, spoiler, and wheels that were installed at the dealer and don't have the SLP sticker. I could be wrong, but I think I remember hearing that.
