That DPM Camaro is in Lewisville, that's why I ask. It wasn't for sale to my knowledge though, but if it's for sale now, I'd have to go check it out.

Did you find it for sale online? I've only seen fairly rough ones for sale the past few months. All very high mileage V6 ones.

One was missing the front ground effect piece I think, and the other one had about 160k miles and looked okay, but like it could use some work to get it looking good again. It looked like it had clearcoat damage.

I found it on Craig's List. It's a V6 with roughly 148K miles. There is clearcoat damage to the roof and a small chip of paint missing from the rear. I replaced small things (belts, flasher relay switch, spark plugs, wires, and so forth). The A/C does not work, has an exhaust leak, and latch on the driver's side door is tricky sometimes. I got the car for a steal so anything I put into it is WELL worth it. I don't think the man I bought it from knew what he had

Just remembered I had this picture on my cell phone

If it doesn't need damaged body panels replaced and repainting, then it's a good deal! That stuff is a pain in the butt to deal with. It looks great in that tiny pic you have. Can't wait to see more pics.

Did you get extremely lucky and find one with leather seats? What color interior did you end up with?

Better than tan. At least you can easily change to dark gray leather if you want to in the future, because all the plastic in your car should be dark gray instead of tan.

I'm looking at a 98 purple Z28 LS engine and 6 speed. It also has the Sport appearance package on it. The guy that has to hold on to it for a few more weeks before he can sell it to me. If it all works out and I get it I will post some pic. It really needs a good cleaning first.

Y3F was sport appearance package, and it was available on Bright Purple Metallic in '98, so it can have what most people inaccurately call "RS ground effects" and spoiler add on. It's perfectly okay to see one with round effects, so long as it has Y3F as an RPO code. Could be had on V6 or Z28, not SS. There were no purple SSes.

No Z28s for '97 could have the ground effects unless for some reason they had the F-1 Package added on at the dealership, and I don't remember if there were color restrictions with that. RS was available in the color with the ground effects, but it of course had a V6.

Hard top is *probably* rarer than a t-top version.

Default Hey that's my car!

Now... the good stuff. The '97 Z28:

Get ready to drop your teeth...
Haha...she was a good car. Drove from Alabama to Pennsylvania in 2005 after I scored her on eBay for $5,000 with only 92k on the odometer. Two months later I got rear-ended....insurance company settled for $8,600 after I told them how rare of a car it was.

Didn't even get to take my own pictures of her except for this one:

And here she sits now....completely stripped it and am still working on putting everything into another Z28 shell that I picked up cheap.

Makes me miss the good ole days. Thanks for the memories.

-Matthew
