Hey Kevin, yea man. I started this collection back in 2011. My first car was a 1998 Navy Blue Metallic Z28, 6-spd, leather, ttops, fully loaded. Owned it from 2005-2010 and I've been hooked ever since. Figured I might as well buy them now while they are in good condition and have low miles!

(Yes, I know I'm responding to a 5 year old post, but just setting the record straight here..........)

Bright Purple Metallic (88U) was available only in '97 & '98. Your '96 is most likely Dark Purple Metallic (05U).

There were 49 BPM M6 Z28 coupes built in '97. Links to a full breakdown is in my sig.

Where in the world did you find that for sale? I'm majorly jealous. I would have found it (probably) if it was in an online ad.

Actually have a request if someone doesn't mind. The guy took the badges off because they were too hard to wax around. Would anyone with a Z be able to get me some measurements to help me get the badges back in the right spot? I only own Trans Ams, so have no reference.

Congrats on the find and purchase of the 97! My girlfriend and I found a 1997 back in the spring of 2017 with the sport appearance package. It has around 70k or so miles on it and is a cloth, ttop, automatic. These Camaros are EXTREMELY rare! So now we have the 97 and a 98. But like Brangeta, I'm always searching !!!!

I remember you from cZ28. I had a different SN back around 04 and mainly stuck to the LT1 section.

I knew they were rare, which is why I bought this one. Wasn't in the market for another car, but aside from my buddy's totaled one, I have never seen another, for sale or otherwise.
That's awesome man! Was his a 97 as well or a 98!?

That's cool! I'm still alive and around. I just don't have the time I did ~10 years ago to do all my research and posting and all that. Glad to see I'm still remembered. My mom and sister both still have the Camaros. I just have my Grand Prix GXP right now. Dallas is too expensive (and I work at a university, so I don't earn a ton) so having a second (or third... or fourth) car just isn't possible for me right now. I'm getting married next year, so that's going to delay my getting a "fun car" by a few years I think as well. But I still definitely want a '97 Z28, A4 that's super low mileage and completely stock (at least visually). Ideally without t-tops. It's unlikely the timing will ever be perfect, but if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. Hopefully in the next 5 years I'll be able to have one, and... be able to find one. In the mean time, I need to work toward affording a house and then affording a lift to put in the garage so I can stack my future BPM Z28 dream car on top of my GXP.

(Something like this)

4 post lift for extra parking

Ah, NO. V6 and "Z28" do not belong together in the same sentence. NO Camaros that were built w/ a V6 under the hood had the Z28 RPO. Of ANY generation.
