Default ls6 motor into 02 Camaro?

What's needed to put a ls6 from vette into 02 Camaro?
Found a deal on one and might pick it up tomorrow.

Nothing. It's the same. Block is different in the way the rear coolant passages go. Heads are 243 casting (better flowing). Cam is a little bigger (not much). Has an LS6 intake.

Vette accessories are different. You will need f-body accessory's & crank pully. Other than that, they are the same engine. In fact 80% of 02 f-bodies came with the LS6 block & ~20% of the 01 cars did too.

THe ls6 is not 6.0 it is 5.7. Its not worth the effort to pull the whole engine for a 40hp gain. You can just swap the heads and cam into your motor and not have to pull everything off..

You'll need the Fbody oil pan and pickup if the motor came out of a vette

It's really not worth it, if you don't need to. If you have a blown engine and are doing the swap that's one thing.

You need to check the casting # on the back of the block below the heads to see if it's an ls6 block. I don't have the #'s in front of me, you will have to do a search to find them.

Error on my part, it's a LS2 engine out 2007 Vette.
I put deposit on it today.
Can I stay dry sump or do I have to go wet?

It's not dry sump. You're also going to need a lingenfelter converter to convert the 58x signal to 24x for your computer to run the engine
