Default 4th-gen weight?

What's the weight difference between the earlier 4th-gen Camaros/'Birds/TAs (93-97) and the later ones (98-02)?

2002 Coupe automatic is 3517 lbs.

All options being equal, 93-97 LT1 would have to be heavier due to iron block.

How much? Not sure. 100lbs?

My SS was 3656 with me in it and a half tank of gas at the track. I weigh 160, so <3500 for my SS.

The weight isn't going to be too much different. The LT1 is slightly heavier than the LS1, but I would estimate less than 100 pounds heavier. Someone else--feel free to make me eat my words!

My WS6 weighed in at 3650 with me in it. I think I was about 190 way back then.

Odd, I wonder what caused the fluctuations?

The one between '94 and '95 confuses me particularly. There weren't many changes I know of.

In '00 the exhaust plumbing layout changed regarding the exhaust manifolds, catalytic converters, etc. so I'm surprised '00 isn't much different from '99.

Confusing overall.

I doubt they consistently weighed Camaros optioned exactly the same. The '94 being heavy could have been because it was a convertible and the '93 and '95 being so light could have been due to being V6 cars. This chart needs some data.

I've been wanting to find out what my SS weighs. No where around here to weigh it tho. I don't think Pittsburgh Raceway has a scale. If I figure out where to weigh it I'll post up. Its not a highly optioned car.

With the Dana 60, BMR suspension, etc., my 02 SS conv. is 4231lbs with 1/4 tank of fuel, at Marting Dragway-US 131. I weigh 267lbs. Ragtops are notoriously heavy. Nothing was removed from the car except the spare and jack were replaced with the NX stuff.

We weighed our 2002 SS at the track.

3570 I believe, with a Vortech under the hood.

my 98 Z28 (A4) weighed in at 3220 without me in it, and all that was removed from the car was the front plastic stuff from in front of the radiator, All of the A/C stuff, front sway bar, back seats, and exhaust- Which was replaced with Pacesetter lt's and true duals from TSP.
So I figure about 3300 lbs. +/- a little bit.

Mine is "VERY - LIGHT" I think.
