what camaro is best for an ls1 swap
ok i have a 1994 v6 camaro and i love the look of the car but want more ***** in it. i tried putting the truck nuts on the back but didnt do **** HAHA. anywho i also like the iroc style camaros. getting a ls1 camaro is cheaper but i am not a fan of the front end. anywho point being, would YOU (hypothetically) stay with the 94 v6 and swap in a ls1 or better because the car looks better than a iroc style one or get the iroc then swap because it has more benefit?? again yes i know getting a camaro with an ls1 in it is cheaper but wheres the fun in that?

true... good point..... i think the fourth gen would be cool for me a little more if the engine bay wasnt so compact that swaping an lsx engine in it is challenging and later mods would be a hassle. still a tough decision

I like my V6 because its normally the only one at the local meets with a 3.8. Everyone and there momma has the LS1 or LT1.
If you want a V8 its best to sell your V6 and use the money you make on that towards an LS1 car. Trust me, swapping in a V8 into a V6 car especially the 4th gens are far more difficult and expensive than you think.
Your better of just buying a LS1 or even LT1 if you want more power. Also the 3.8's aren't a bad idea either. Go for a 2000+LS1 or a 97 LT1.
those 3.4's don't make much power by todays standards.

yeah as much as i hate to admit it, youre right about just getting an ls1/lt1 car. i just wished my 3.4l wasnt such a sissy and had some *****. and i know some people have fixed up their 3.4l to hybrid 3400 or 3500 engines but it doesnt tickle my fancy. plus i feel fixing up my 6 is a waste and no good results will come from it

I have an '01 Camaro Z28. I love the car however I can't stand the headlights. ******* HATE THEM, lol. But I love how it drives. I like the 93-97 body style as well as the 89-92 body style. I would love to find a nice third gen and put the LS1 and tranny from the '01 into it.
I love the '10 Camaroo 1SS however I don't want to buy/finance another car. Plus it's heavy as hell. But I HATE the 98-02 headlights...lol. I wish I could find a nice third gen. I've searched the internet for any on sale even though I can't purchase one yet. After I get a van for the family and pay it off, I'll see what I want to do. Get an '10 or find a project be it build up my '01 or find a third gen and transfer the engine/tranny. Decisions, decisions.

yeah the '10 camaros are too much car and too much money. id love to have one but for the price of a v6 id rather buy a old v8. though maybe one day in the near future i would maybe try and get one but not right now. it might be easier to swap out my front end to a 98+ camaro though. has anyone done any other type of lsx engine swap in a third gen or a fourth gen that isnt a ls1?

Shows how to go from 93-93 to 98-02. Going the other way is just as easy. It's a bolt and go mod.

Keep your current camaro and buy another one with a LS1/LT1. Use your v6 for daily driving and use your new ls1/lt1 as a toy. It really isn't all that expensive (if I can do it, Any other person can do it! I don't make much money and I live on my own with full coverage on both cars.)
It really is a HUGE waste of money to try and swap a v8 in to a v6 body. Unless your ganna go with a 408 ci or bigger fully built LSx.
Buy a 98-02 camaro and swapping the front end out with a 93-97 is a good idea; but really?? Sounds like a visual down grade to me. Just be smart with your money and do what you feel is right in the long run though. Hope you figure out what you want to do.

I already have a fully paid off '01. The debate in my mind is what I want to do in the future. I like how the new Camaros look however I am spoiled on having fully paid off cars.
Wonder what else I can do to the front end so that the headlights don't like like *** cheeks.

I have a 97' LT1 Camaro in which I have swapped over to an LQ9 408 iron block. The swap wasn't hard at all just expensive. You have to pay to play. New K-member from BMR- $600 & buying and adapting the LS1 wriing harness from SPEARTECH- $500. I found that the Volant CAI kit comes with the radiator support for $300. Those were the major things. Everything else was minor chump change as far as hoses and sensors. Then I had to send the PCM out to PCM for less. That was it. Not to bad. But I went all out on mine (which is still not done) getting a new S60 rearend and all BMR suspension . Plus, the 97's came with the LS's interior. All in all, it was a win win situation.

after seeing your car my wife finally gave me the heads up to start that project. so now i am searching for the perfect project in my budget; i have decided numbers matching i dont care about because of the swap but its hard finding one not restored with a decent interior.
