Default 2002 camaro z28 opti spark

Hey guys I drive a 2002 camaro ls1 and I have been hearing that automatic car washes can be damaging to the opti spark. Is this true?

98-02 ls1 f-bodies do not have a distributer (optispark)

Ls1's have coil per cylinder ignition, lt1's had the optispark...

Yes, no opti-spark on the LS1 and I'm glad they got rid of it!!!!
