Hi,

I am looking to get 4 new tires for my 99' Camaro V6 with 55 tire option. They are P235/55 R16. I know there aren't many choices, and it seems that the BF Goodrich have a few poor ratings. Any help is appreciated.

just buy a mustang, camaro's are junk and slow

kbrewer, try going down to a 50 series tire, then from there you can try a 245/50-16 or 255/50-16. go to tire rack or a web site thats the same and check the diameter of the tire. find a tire the comes as close to the oem as possible. Look on the bright side, at least you dont own a mustang, you would of put alot of money into it to it so the mustang can aleast do a minute in the 1/4 mile.

A 235/55/16 tire is ...

9.25 wide (side wall to side wall) and 26" tall (approx.)

245/50/16 tire is.... **************** 245/55/16

9.5"wide and 25.5" tall ************* 9.5" wide and 26.5 tall

You can play with sizes some to get where you want/need to be....but if you get a taller/shorter tire it can/will play with your speedometer and ABS....Just a heads up so you might want to get that fixed/programed.

going from a 235/55 to a 245/50 will not change anything. any differences are too minimal.

FWIW, on my 98 S-10 with the ZQ8 option, it had factory 235's and i went up to 245's and nothing changed except my tire options.
