Alright guys, im looking to make my 2000 z28 camaro faster or quicker. What are the best ways to do that with a limited amount of money. And also, im looking to get new front seats. I would like some that are still fairly comfortable but are still light weight. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

There's a few routes you could go.
The first thing I did was swap rear gears from 3.23 to 3.73. Wakes the car up a bit in a straight line. Downside is now I'm cruising at higher rpms which leads to louder exhaust drone, lower gas mileage.

For adding power, start with the bolt-ons; exhaust either a catback and y-pipe or dumped true duals. Depending on your state's emissions laws you may be able to remove the cats and do longtube headers, as well as delete the emissions controls (air and egr). After exhaust, you have the intake. You can do an LS6 manifold and a high-flow air lid, and if you want a ram air kit.

Once you've done all the bolt-ons, go and get a good tune. Also if you're still running the stock 16" rims with 245 tires, you may want to pick up some 17x9s with 275s to get a little more traction.

I have a magnaflow exhaust on her now. And i have the ss hood that i am getting ready to put on. How much does it cost to change the gears? And i like those seats but i really want leather to match the rest of the car! Thanks!

And also i have the slp air lid with a k and n air filter. But like i said i think i want something like a cold air so the ram air hood has affect. And yes i really want some different wheels. I like the rpm 505!

The ram air from the SS hood isn't very efficient. You'd see a bigger gain from a ram air kit like the fast toys one that draws air from under the car.

As for the cost of the gear swap, I bought a rebuilt rear with the gears for like $400 then did a complete rear swap. I did all the labor myself. I imagine to pay someone to do it would be around $1k for parts/labor. It was about an 8 hour job.

Well the gts seats are leather and you wont get any function from an ss hood the 97 ss and was the last car with a truly functional ss hood. Go with the slp flo pac oor the cold air induction that comes in the flo pac ssince you already have the lid

Brand new gears will run you about $200 and you need to get the gear kit(don't remember how much they are. Not too expensive). I paid $350 for the gear install. Its a good way to go if your trying to make your car faster.

If you do go with new gears be sure to check your rpo codes to see what your stock gear size is so you know what size housing is on the car. Unless youre gonna go to something like a moser 12 bolt setup
