Default Tough decision...which ss?

So I previously had an 02 z28 with much work and love put into it (boltons cam cosmetic) and last week a teenage driver (texting and driving) decided to swerve into oncomming traffic and hit my z head on. Total loss.
Now after i finished bumming around and being grouchy, i decided its time for a new one. Problem is, im suck between two. Maybe you guys could help me make the call.

The numbers: trying to stay under 10k all together, with headers, catback, kn intake, tune, and other bolts. No cam or anything on this one.

So the options are:
99 SS with 116k miles, bone stock, excellent condition, silver w ttops, for $7500 (negotiable)

And a 01 SS with 80k miles, cat back, slp intake, and all the 01 factory ss goodies that the 99s didnt have. Excellent condition, black t tops, $9500, firm.

So like i said, trying to stay within $10,000, and if i get the 01 id have to hold off on headers for awile, plus, i wouldnt have the satisfaction of doing everything myself.

What do you all think?

Also, the '01 had the rear end rebuilt by gm recently.

I'd go 01. Painted mirrors factory Ls6 intake steering wheel controls and less miles.

2001. Two years newer and nearly 40k less miles. No-brainer.

Not a tough decision at all, I would get that '01. Also, that car can still be considered pretty stock, you will have plenty to do yourself it just has a lid/catback

Im with these guys no brainer on the 01, but what trans? Didnt see that listed on any of the cars, but probably the same, so its irrelevant.

Did you buy your old one back for engine, trans, and your mods?

Yeah, 01-02 had the ls6. They both are T56 trans, and i talked with the insurance company and they said I couldn't but my own car from the auction as some kind of fraud deterrent. Stupid system..but anyway im goin with the 01 for sure and should be picking it up within the next few days
