Default Engine out the top

Anybody know if it is possible to remove the engine and trans out the top on a 2001 camaro ss? Car is totaled so cutting the core support or other parts is not a problem.

I just pulled the engine on a wrecked 99 Trans Am and I can tell you it is pretty easy to drop it out the bottom, especially if you are able to cut the core support. Leave the front suspension and wheels attached to the engine cradle and use furniture dollies to catch the trans and the engine cradle. I used my floor jack on the engine cradle to lower and bottle jack under the trans. I added some pictures so you can see how easy it is. I did this with no help.

I pulled mine out the top, with the cylinder heads and crank pulley still on the motor. It makes it a lot easier if you pull the trans off of the motor before pulling the motor. I did mine on a drive on lift though. If i was to do in on the ground i think i'd drop it out the bottom for sure!

cut the entire front clip off the car, keep the wheels on and put a dolley on the tranny and just roll the whole thing out... or you know drop it out the bottom lol

Go to the TPIS site. They sell an arm that will work.

took it out of the bottom, no way it would have been any easier going out the top.
