Default Hello again! (Can't seem to stay away from those 4th Gen's!)

Hey guy's just wanted to say hello again. I was gone for a while playing with a C4 Corvette. Nice car indeed, but I missed my 4th gen. What can I say, I guess I'm a Camaro guy at heart. Anyway, I just picked up a 2002 Camaro SS auto. It's a two owner car with just 33K on the clock.

(Also, my new car is 100% stock, not even a lid! So, if any of you guys are local to the Chicago area and have any minor bolt on stuff please shoot me a PM!)

Try posting in the regional forum to find local parts. I think Speed Inc is located in Chicago if you want to buy new parts. Welcome back to the f-bodies!

Default A few pics of my new (to me) 2002 SS.

As I mentioned in my other post, I recently purchased a 2002 Camaro SS. She's 100% stock with just 33K on the odometer.

Here's a few pics.

Very true!

They're fairly quick in stock trim, respond well to mods, and have removable roof panels. In my humble opinion, that's a great combo!

Thanks!

There are a couple cars for sale locally (SS Camaro's and WS6 T/A's) that have even lower mileage. They sure aren't cheap though!

I love to get a bunch of expensive mods for cheap, but there is something to be said for an unmolested 100% stock car. You know no one has messed it up! All the f-bodies around here have 200k miles and fugly body kits.

I would have looked for something with lower mileage, 33k miles is actually pretty high for an '02. My '98 has exactly HALF that mileage.

Haha...just kidding, you know I love your new car. Too bad you couldn't bring it by before the snow though.

Nice car man!... and great find! Especially around this area. I was looking for one (02 black ss) a little over two years ago and couldn't find anything within 100 miles around here in good shape and not overpriced. (I live in Naperville) Only one I found was a bone stock 46K mile one with 35th anniv stripes in the UP of Mich for $12K. Next weekend I drove up and bought it.

Again, congrats on the new ride!

I hate F-bodies. I couldn't imagine owning one, and having two would just be nonsense.

....and 100% stock it is! No lid, catback or anything! I was shocked when I first opened the hood!

Ouch!

Hey, that's not fair! The only one that likes your 98 more than you is me! (Although an OEM SS spoiler and hood would really make it that much better!)

Too bad you couldn't bring it by before the snow though.
Yeah, that pretty much figures. The weather holds out until I pick up the car!

It's funny you mention that! I searched within a 100 mile radius and picked this one up in Indiana! (I live on the NW side of Chicago and found this one in Merrillville!)

Again, congrats on the new ride!
Thank you sir!

Yeah that's a good point, and thanks to your purchase I plan to drive it more next year. Now if we could just get Mike to drive his Formula, the guys at Rosemont would see a new trend of 4th gens emerge.

Wow your lucky. I would love to have a low miles car like that. Im actually debating selling this one for a low mile ss or low mile c5. Thats a beautiful car you got there man. I would be torn on keeping it stock or not. Actually if it were mine I would probably throw a procharger on with meth and be done.

I sure hope so! It would be nice to see that car out a bit more!

I don't think Mike will ever bring that car out! Come to think of it, not sure if it even exists!

Thanks! I can't wait to play with it this spring!

Nice car man i just bought a 00 black ss and wish it was like yours . Had 99 k but was unmolested no mods which was cool. Good luck with her i am saving for a procharger. I figure with the miles i have something happens i can sell procharger. H/ci could get destroyed
