Default confusing RPO codes

I keep reading 1SC is stripper 1SZ and all kind of numbers but mine has me way confused, then I read 1SC is SLP or something I have no idea

then you read the 1SZ is a package with limited slip and other stuff, F41 handling, I know I don't have an open carrier, because it will lay a pair until you take your foot out of it

can someone give me an idea of what the hell I have..

man I am confused..

Edit.. I got it at a Florida State auction..

When they say 'stripper car' they mean no power options as in power windows and door locks and also hard top because of the light weight of them without all the accessories..

Just a base, bare-bones, Camaro. 1SC is desirable for those looking to make a race car or those who hate electronic anything. That you have a V6 doesn't make the car useful for anything other than a V8 swap car.

I'm late to the discussion here, but here's what my research has found about stripper Camaros:

'Stripper' is the term people refer to when talking about the no option base model Z28 or SS. In 1999, the base model was the 1SD option code and in 2000-2002 the base model was the 1SC option code. The base model comes with no power options (seats, mirrors, windows, locks, cruise, remote hatch release, fog lights, remote entry, body moldings, etc).... Basically stripped, hence the 'stripper' term.

In 1999, there were only 459 1SD cars made, so that makes them sort of rare, but not GNX rare where the value has tripled since new.

There is also a debate, it seems, where some claim the stripper car is lighter, therefore better for racing. Other people don't agree with that claim and would rather have power windows. I can see it both ways.

1998 v8 Camaros- 1SF base model coupe
1SG power optioned coupe

1999 v8 Camaros- 1SD base model coupe
1SE preferred equipment group 1 (most power options)

2000-2002 v8 Camaros- 1SC base model coupe
1SD most power options

Hope that helps.

Default more questions

I have a 2002 Z28 that has the 1SZ code, along with 1SP, and it has the electric controls, doors, windows, rear hatch, etc...

Anyone know what the 1SP is?
