Default crank, start then die

We just finished putting a 402 in a 2002 z28.

its an ls2 bottom end with ls3 top end.
edelbrock 90mm tb with stock sensors
Ls3 injectors using caspers ev1 to ev6 adapters

the car will start and then immediately die. One time we had it running for about 20 seconds but that was it. Everything else is start and die.

it starts easy and giving it throttle doesnt help, it actually seems to make it not fire.

we had the battery off for 2 months until today. Not sure where to look.

Lots of places to start, but fuel would be my first place. Pump/regulator/injectors...etc.

Have you confirmed that you are getting fuel at the rail?
Take off the cap that covers the shrader valve on the right side of the rail and push a small flathead into it and see if fuel comes out

yes, getting fuel at the rail. As an additional test, I used HP Tuners to disable the fuel pump and it wont fire at all, as soon as I turn the pump back on it fires, runs for a second and shuts off

Have you confirmed that your VATS is disabled?

no, VATS is still enabled, as it was a working system when we pulled the original ls1 out of it. I will be disabling that for our next test though

Give that a shot and after that if it's still a no fire you should look into the coil pack connections. See if you left one of the sides unplugged. Are all your grounds hooked up?

yeah, all grounds were hooked up, but I may make another pass through and confirm they are all still tight.
