Default Weld RT-S on first gen Camaro?

I will upgrading from Prostars to the black RT-S on my 67 Camaro. I bought some 15x4 fronts from a friend and Im saving up for the rears which will be either 15x8 or 9. Im just not sure if the 15x9 will fit with 5 1/2 inches of back spacing. Right now my 15x8 prostars have 4 1/2 and fit perfectly. Is anyone running RT-S's on a first gen? If so, what sizes and back spacing did you use? I want to see pics!!!!! Thanks in advance.

According to Weld's website the 15x9 will fit but may require the shocks to be moved inboard...The 15x8 should fit without modifications..

Cool thanks Alexus. I found where you saw that. Probably just get 15x8s. Ill be running 27x10.5 tires on stock height. I know 28s fill them up so I might have to lower it an inch with different leaf springs.

Is anyone else running RT-S's on a first gen? I would like to see what they look like. I googled it and all that came up were 4 gens and some Vettes.

So I got bored at work today and decided to see what my car would look like with a set of RT-S wheels on it (Photoshop). I have to say I love the way they look! I found some fronts already with tires from a friend and will be buying the rears and tires this winter to debut them next spring. First image is the way my car looks currently...second pic is photoshopped with the RT-S's. What do you think?

Yea kind of...up close they are much different tho...especially with the black inserts. I should be able to order the rears in a couple weeks. Then save up for tires.

Too funny I'm in the exact same boat with my 69. I sold my draglights and going to run the Weld Rts as well. 15x4 fronts and 15x8 or 9 rears. Wish I could test fit my 275/50/15 MT Drags on the 15x9's with 5.5" bs. It will gain clearance to the outside but if the tire buldges much at all it going to rub pretty bad on the inside. The 8's are by far the safer bet.

Mini-tub
Only 12" from lip to inner wheel well, 6" from wheel mounting surface to inner wheel well.

Yummmm, makes me really want to pull the trigger on a mini-tub. If only I could weld.

What do most guys do that mini-tub as far as paint goes? Primer and spray can since it won't be seen, especially on the inside?

Yea I ended up going with 15x8s for the rears. I have the front mounted and now just debating which rear tires to get. Was going Hoosier Quick time DOTs in a 27x10.5. I had a 28 tall DR on before and they would rub with body roll. Should have everything mounted and planted in a couple weeks!

Fronts are on and I picked up the rears last night. Hope to get it on the ground this weekend!

6D9 did you ever get the RT-S put on your car? Would like to see them on a different 1st gen. Love these wheels!

Default rts

So did you ever get to lower the car? I'm looking to go this route but 15x9.33 I'm scared of rubbing due to the fact my car is lowered
