I realize this is definitely not an LS series engine but you are the only guys I know who give good info online. So I just bought a 454 bare block today most likely will go in my camaro. I'm looking for 500+ horsepower N/A. Do you guys have any suggestions? It does need to be resleaved. I was thinking on 30 over with a scat rotating assembly and edlebrock top end kit. Let me know your opinions I will gladly read them and take them into consideration. No set budget although the more expensive means it will take longer. I am in no rush on this build though cuz it is my dream engine thanks

I gotta ask why? Is there something wrong with your LS?
You can make 500WRHP with a stock cube LS1, I don't see a reason to do an engine swap for that small of a power goal.

A 454 BB is capable of so much NA hp. I would shoot for way mre than 500. If that's all your after, stay LSx.

Agreed. A 454 is great for making power, but keep in mind the modifications to the car to make it work. Mounts, headers/exhaust, notching the cowl for a carb, access to the distributor, and plumbing/wiring. With an LS, it's already all there.

Hmmm good point all of it this is still all up for debate I am also thinking about just building the 454 and waiting to come across a chevelle or a older vette to put it in I love my LS and still thinking on a head and cam kit from TSP
