2001 ss camaro LSX build
we are on Maui and working on a new build for our race team.
we have a 2001 ss Camaro and we will be installing a new LSX376-B8.
the car currently has a LS1 with ls6 intake, t56 tranny center force clutch, lightened flywheel, 12 bolt rear with 4:11 gears.
the new LSX376 just arrived at the house, the LSX FAST intake and BOSH 42 injectors will be in any day.
we still have to order the remaining parts, on that note has anyone completed a similar build????
a few questions we have are
1. can we reuse the LS1 wire harness and coils?? and just swap out the LS1 controller for a LS3 controller????
2. the car came stock with a LS6 clutch setup do we have to change it to a 09 corvette setup??
3. does anyone know of a pulley we can install to get the belt system to line up with what is in the car now???? don't really want to replace all of the pulleys and mounting hardware.
4. the manufacturer states we need to use a 09 corvette starter would a race mini starter work better ?
our race team has a 77 firebird running 10.90, 70 Chevelle was running 11.90 "next up for a motor swap", 98 Camaro Z-28 was running 12.90 "also up for a motor swap thinking LSX-454", 2001 ss Camaro "listed above" hope to run 11.90, 89 Camaro RS street class and a 2014 Camaro SS takes home first place every time we run it and just got the wally last week.
Aloha
