I'm looking to buy a replacement hood and want only an OEM to put back on the car.. from what I've read on here the big determining factor is whether or not under the strut or the hood latch there is an engraved number that shows it's an actual SLP SS OEM hood. Is this true? I know they're SMC not just fiberglass. Please help !!

My factory SS hood had the engraving under the one hood strut. You could tell it was done by hand from a dremel probably.

Look where the shock mount bolts onto the hood (can't remember which side, but you have to unbolt it and look under it) and it will have a number stamped in the hood as well as "Made in Canada." I can't remember if the "Made in Canada" stamp is with the number or somewhere else under the hood, but if it is an original hood then it will have it on there. Factory SS hoods also have clear plastic strips on the front underside where the hood meets the headlights.
