The radio (and a few other things) are supposed to stay powered up when the car is turned off for 10 minutes or until a door opens. Sounds like the door switch broke, and the car doesn’t recognize when the drivers door opens. The fact that it recognizes the passenger door opening proves that it’s not a wiring issue.

No idea how you’d go about replacing it though, I believe it’s built into the door latch mechanism. Maybe take a look inside the door latch and see if anythings stuck in there or looks broken? Maybe even try spraying some WD40 in there too.

I agree with 02Droptop. It sounds like the car is not recognizing that the driver door is open. It has to be the switch in the door
