What Mufflers to Fit Behind Axle with CME
I am getting ready to install my new CME exhaust valance/tips on my car, and I want to add two mufflers after the axle on each side of the trunk hump. I need the car to be fairly quiet with a built 370. I really liked the the tone of the Magnaflow 14419 bullet I put behind my y-pipe when I first got the build done, but it was wayyy too loud by itself. I'm looking at two options to put behind the axle.
One is the Magnaflow 12866 5" round 14" long bullet muffler.
The other is the Magnaflow 12616 6" round 14" long bullet muffler.
I think two 6" mufflers would quieten it down enough, but I'm not sure about the clearance on both sides with a 6" round muffler. Anyone have any info on 6" round mufflers fitting there?
Does anyone have experience with the 12866 with a cammed ls car?
Any help is appreciated. I'm leaning toward two 12866s right now for space issues.

Well, I ordered the two 12866 Magnaflows to put behind the axle on both sides of the trunk hump, and I am going to put my Magnaflow 14419 directly behind the merge in the I-Pipe. I hope it sounds good and I hope it's quiet enough for the neighbors. If not, I guess it'll just have to be loud. I've dropped way too much money on this exhaust for it to not be a manufactured stainless catback haha.

If you are running catalytic converters, then something like the GMMG setup would be a perfect fit back there for the CME, and with the extra bullet in the I-pipe, it would be quiet enough, and sound awesome!

Love the new setup. It's quiet enough to be a daily driver, but still loud enough to hear it. I could definitely deal with a little louder, but it'll be good while I'm driving it everyday. It has a nice deep tone with no rasp whatsoever that I can tell.
If you want a quieter setup with a big cam motor:
TSP headers and y-pipe, Magnaflow 14419 in the I-Pipe, and 2 Magnaflow 12866 behimd the axles will do the trick.
