Default Camaro 1999 Hugger Orange production numbers

Quick question maybe someone knows. I just bought a 99 camaro z28 convertible in hugger orange. I do know 134 hugger orange convertibles were produced but of those does anyone know the breakdown? (6cyl, z28, ss)

My car:

Z28 / Hugger Orange / Black Top / Tan Leather Interior / factory chrome wheels

There were 111 1999 Hugger Orange Z28 convertibles built, 45 of those were manuals and 66 were automatics. For any further break down, you'll have to go to some place like CompNine with your vin to get your RPOs decoded. It will give you an estimate of how many were ordered with your RPOs. They no longer offer the service for free, but I think it's only like $5 to run a report for your car and it's worth it to know what all came with your car and what the RPOs mean. I did it for all of mine.

Thanks Techcam97 for the site recommendation.

From that site I found out that 11 were built with this color combo and with all the options on this car it is a "one of one." Pretty cool to know that nobody else has the exact same car on the street.

They must have changed their site, I entered the vin for my 99 hugger orange SS on compnine and it says that the 99U paint code is dark slate metallic, and there were 1268 of them made... waste of $5 haha anybody else know of any different sites that might be of more help?

I'm curious about this car...

It was listed at a michigan dealer back in december for $8k. I presume that's where OP got it?

It was then on Craigslist for $9800 a few weeks back (i saw it on Jan 2nd) (in Northern KY)

It is now on ebay, being sold by dealer the fairfield ohio?

Pretty good deal at the $8k price, not bad at $9800... Looks like it's being passed around and everyone's making a few bucks while it works its way to the right owner. Sweet ride, just wish it had all black interior... but i think this is one of the cars that looks good with the tan/beige interior too....

Mine had that same tan/gray interior and I changed the carpet to the gray color. Still an awesome color combo!

total 99U hugger orange camaro's 1402. convertibles 23 V6; 111 Z28& SS?; 59 SS was 34 M6 & 25 A4; Z28 was 45 M6 & 66 A4 (possibly includes SS); totals 514 v6 coupes & 23 V6 verts plus 754 coupe (z28 & SS) plus 111 verts = 1402. the #'s are confusing on the spread sheet but i think of the 111 ls1 verts that 59 were SS. I use to think the 59 were in addition to the 111. fun fact with only 134 verts thats less than 3 per state! so i guess im lucky to own one.

Before reading this post, I was wondering if this vehicle was a "re paint". My reason for saying this is I believe the 1999 vehicles had "black" mirrors, not the same color of the vehicle (unless your vehicle is black).

If you look @ Hugger Z posted pictures, you will notice that the mirrors are black.

According the 1999 Chevrolet Car Product Guide, the body colored mirrors were standard on the base coupes and all the convertibles including the Z28 and SS. The Z28 and SS coupes came with a "standard black roof and mirror treatment". I'm not sure if the term "coupe" means both hard top and t-top cars, but that's is the way it's described in the literature.

i think i've seen maybe 2 Z28 hugger coupes and both had black mirrors. my vert has orange mirrors with gray leather interior. i've only seen one other HO vert that was in wisconsin at the power tour. the guy had a white roof & added white stripes.

When I get off my but I will take a few pics of my HOSS and load them. As far as how many HOSS's you see around ATL? None. Have never seen one anywhere. In fact I have driven mine down to Palmer Dodge a few times to see a friend of mine and every time the showroom empties and people gawk at the car like it's space ship.

The overlap between Z28 numbers and SS numbers is due to the fact that all SSs also carried RPO "Z28". So in that breakdown, SS numbers are a sub-set of the Z28 numbers, not a separate count.
