Deleting AC but keeping heat?

Deleting AC but keeping heat? So after getting 1/4 of the way into the dash, I'm gauging interest into maybe just cutting the AC box off and installing the block off plate. Is there any issues in doing that?
The only reason I'd see to going through the headache of removing all the dash and such would be to remove the airbag stuff and all of the HVAC. It's still street driven so we're keeping the airbags and heat.
Thoughts?
Just trying to make as much room as possible in engine bay and deleting all the unnecessary crap.
