Fast Intake 92 Installation Question
Hey guys I just got done installing my new fast 92 manifold on my 2000 Camaro SS and I'm having issues with it. I also put a new throttle body on it as well. When I start up the car it'll idle at a 1000 rpms at first but as I continue to let it sit the idle will go up and eventually reach 2000 rpms. I took it around the block and the gas/throttle is barely responsive. I can have it floored and it doesn't seem to want to move. I began to look around the engine and discovered a vacuum line is still disconnected on the right driver's side towards the back of the engine. The code on the plug in device is dr272. Does anybody know what that vacuum line may be for?? I couldn't find the hose so looks like I will be taking it back a part again to see if it got tucked behind while installing the new intake. Also can you reuse the bolts off the ls1 intake?? I heard you have to grind them down but mine fit in perfectly when putting it back together...I went ahead and bought new gaskets and the valley cover bolts but they aren't even long enough to go into the intake. Anyways if you read this post thanks for reading! Hopefully I can get some advice. Also the two white stick pads under the ls1 intake...I don't put those on the fast do I?

your post is a little confusing. Did you put in the button head valley cover bolts? If not then you may have cracked the intake or its not seating fully causing multiple leaks. Also if you post a pic of the hose it will probably help as there are many hoses back there normally. other than that it sounds like your problem is a vac leak. Also dr272 is not an obd 2 code. P0272 is one but its really for diesel engines

I bought the valley cover bolts but I guess I am confused as to which ones those are? I bought the fast valley cover bolts off of ebay I believe there are roughly twelve of them I was given in the bag...Are they suppose to be the ten long ones torqued down? If so they must have sent me the wrong ones because these are not long enough they are maybe two inches long. There are also the four shorter ones that are mounted to the brackets for the fuel rails. I bought this intake used and it did not come with any hardware bolts so I guess I wasn't exactly sure what hardware I needed and what I could use and swap over from the ls1 manifold.

The shorter bolts go under the intake on the valley cover. They are button head with allen wrench holes in them. The head is slightly shorter because the intake is fatter than the stock LS1 intake. You also need different coolant lines. Not doing those step will not allow the intake to seal properly and or crack the bottom of the intake causing a vacuum leak.

Yeaa but I still need to buy new coolant lines and two plugs for them don't I? I may just put the ls1 manifold back on and have a professional do it...I'd rather not but I am tired of messing with it. Anyone know how much a shop might charge?

If I had to guess I'd say 350$. Honestly, I did the job myself entirely from information on this site. If you take time searching and print out the info it's all available for you. All you should need is the bolts and I take gaskets to get the job done. I wouldn't say I'm "Joe Mechanic" over here and I was able to get it done with no issues.
