So I am trying to find information about my car. It is a '99 Z28 convertible. The weird part is that an owner of a local tire shop saw my car and told me he has seen it before.

Apparently back in late 1998 pennzoil held a sweepstakes at participating retailers where a customer could enter for a chance to win 1 of 2 black '99 convertible z28s. Evidently a guy at his shop won and his story of how long the guy had the car and when he sold it along with the mileage coincide with the car fax. Scotty said he thinks he has a photo still of the day it was presented as well. We are currently the third owner and it only has 30k on it.

Is there anyway that anyone knows of me further substantiating the story?

Without something like a vin confirmation, there probably isn't really any way to verify it. There were something like 561 black Z28 convertibles made in 1999, so it's not like it's a rare color. I would see what sort of documentation can be found and go from there.
