Default 99-02 PCM and Harness Questions

I know the 98 F-bodies have a different PCM and engine harness that isnt at all compatible with the 99-02 stuff.

I have a 99 V6 car that I am V8 swapping, and I am curious if the three large connectors that interface the PCM harness to the front-clip body harness are the same between the V6 and V8 cars? That same question applies to the two small connectors that go through the passenger side of the firewall to under the dash.

Second question is, what part # is the LS1 PCM from the 99-02 cars? I need the IAC driver on the PCM and I figure getting a PCM from the same car will assure the wiring harness matches up and the factory electronics will work correctly.

Also if anybody has a 99-02 LS1 PCM for sale PM me, I have a thread in the parts section also. Thanks guys!

From what I know it can be done but seems just easier and cheaper to get a donor pcm from a v8 car. I would thumb through the classifieds for guys parting out cars you can find some good deals that will save you the time and headache of altering your v6 harness.

Sorry I wasn't very clear in my original post, I wanted to know if the connectors that the engine harness connects to the body harness with are the same between the V8 and V6 cars because I want to get a V8 harness and PCM

That I would have no clue. I would imagine they would be the same just speaking from a manufacturing and costs stand point but I don't know that.

Anyone know the answer to this?

I did some digging and it would appear the connectors should be plug n play to mate the body and engine harness. Alot seems to depend on the year of the swaps however so stay away from 98's.

Thanks man! That makes things much easier. I had heard the 98s were odd bastards in a lot of ways, so I was only considering 99-02 harnesses.

Yeah 98's were the odd ones I believe they shared a lot with the 97 vette. I would just try to stick with a 99 and you should be golden. Good luck man
