Default 4th gen camaro wiring help!!!

I have a 1998 z28 that I recently swapped in the full wiring, engine, everything off a 2001 z28. As soon as I plug in the battery the headlights and taillights come on? Does anybody know what this could be or how I could troubleshoot the problem? Thanks

Is it possible that the headlight switch was moved to the on position when changing the harness?

do you have the auto light sensor in the dash and the correct switch installed?

Assuming nothing has been modified, there are two different paths that could energize the lights. One through the switch, the other through the DLR module. Try disconnecting them by unplugging the connectors one at a time to see if either shuts the lights off.

Unplugging the light switch connector turned them off, but what would be causing this problem?

Did you plug the light switch back in and then unplug the DRL module? If you do this and the lights remain off, this would indicate the contacts in DLR are not operating correctly and the DRL module probably needs to be replaced. If unplugging the DRL module doesn't shut them off, check to see if the light switch functions properly, turning the lights on and off. If you can't control the lights with the switch, the switch is bad.

Out of curiosity, why was the lighting harness replaced? Was there some kind of damage?

thank you I will try that tomorrow and see if it works. I replaced the main body and engine wiring harnesses from my 01(wrecked) into the 98(roller I bought) because the 98 and 01 harnesses were different I had to use the 01 harness to get my 01 ls1 to plug in to the body
