Well i happen to have a 01 ss thats stock also, and i can pull a few cars on the 05's from the line and from a roll i can get a few mroe cars on them , are you a m6 or auto and what is he? i dont think you will have any problem with him tho.

First of all, we must all recognize that the "new" Mustang is nothing to worry about as a base model. The threat gets worse as it is modded and such.
But since I like Camaros, I'm rooting for you buddy!

I have a 00 a4 only mods are Lid and Free Mods.. from a DIg i put a few cars on a 05 GT allrdy. you will do even better. Dun worry this guy obviously dose not know anything about cars or he would not have said that

Advantage SS. You have more power and similar weight. Simple as that.
The 05's are mid/mid high 13 cars for MOST people. But will loose out up top.

I didn't get to race the guy but at the local track a guy showed up with a M5 GT that had cold air intake, underdrive pulley, computer tune and axle back exhaust and he ran around a 13.2X with it. It was his first time at the dragstrip ever as he said he usually autocrosses. He obviously knows how to drive to get that kind of time. Stock for Stock the SS has a 25HP advantage if it's a base SS and more if it has the SLP lid/catback combo. Stangs take longer to spool up to the powerband(DOHC motors SUCK on low end torque) so you should be able to jump him off the line.

I'd say the only thing he has on you (for the street) is the M5 vs. your A4. But you have a faster car. Stock for stock, you win, hands down. What kind of mods, if any, are each of you working with?

Have a 99' 1sc stripper m6 (Stock). My buddy has an 05' gt m5 (Stock). We went from a roll 20 mph. I KILLED HIM!! 7CARS!!! Dead stop Spun Hard! Got Him By 6Cars!! You should have no Prob!!!

Yea, stock vs. stock the SS should easily win. I haven't been real impressed with the new GT's. I heard a bunch of people raving about the power of the new 3 valves-per-cylinder design, before they came out, but I haven't been amazed by them.

If I'm not mistaken, and correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 05 GTs are A5 also. Regardless, you should have no problem hurting his feelings. Go out and win one for the Bowtie Boys!

As for starters there are NO A4's. They are FIVE (5) speed automatics.
And once more they have been clocking almost identical times as the manuals, and in some cases slightly better.

As far as I know your SS should be able to blow that 05 Mustang away. Now the new Shelby 06 Mustang's are near or over 400hrp at least that is what my friend keeps telling me who is about to get one and wants to race me in my '01 SS.
