Will a 4th gen exhaust fit on a 3rd gen?

A friend of mine wants to put a magnaflow catback on his 3rd gen TA, but they don't make a kit for a 3rd gen. I'm just curious about the cat back, he already has headers and a Y pipe. The car has a rusty flowmaster system on it and he wants to replace it with something nicer.

From the firewall back the 4th gen and the 3rd gen are the same chassis, so anything on the back portion of the vehicle will interchange. Suspension is the primary one, as well as catbacks. You (or your buddy) will need an adapter S-Pipe made to mate the 4th Gen (LS1 type?) catback to the y-pipe on the 3rd gen. All stock hangers will work on/from both.
