Default what kind of diff does a 92 z28 have

I always thought my brothers 92 z28 had an open diff like most 3rd gens, but yesterday he got semi stuck in snow and when I was out pushing I noticed that both wheels were spinning.

are they the same 10 bolt rear ends in the 4th gens?

just curious

I believe that some of the z-28's and irocs got the limited slip option, especially in the later years.

yea we looked up the RPO codes and it does have a limited slip, I am just wondering if its the same weak 10 bolt as a 4th gen.

I have a 1992 z28 with the G92 performance rear. it has 3:23 gears stock and limited slip. all irocs and z28s had limited slip I believe in the later years. late year(89-90) irocs and some GTA birds had 9 bolts. they are not the same rear as the 4th gens. they are not as long. the 4th gen rear sticks out about another inch. If you have any questions about the car let me know. Or you check out thirdgen.org.
