Default Exhaust

Hello, I am trying to build a custom exhaust for my 99 Camaro. The only thing is it's the V6. So I was wondering if anyone could give a diagram or possibly some pointers on how to get true dual, or if this is even advisable on the V6. I know I want to maintain a certain back pressure so if anyone knows the best way to do it that would be great, i would like an exhaust similar to this one:

Thanks,
Tim

Well you might get alot of hate for trying to put exhaust on a sixer but anywho, try going to a good muffler shop in your area. My buddy actually drives a 98 v6 camaro with a tru dual exhuast hooked up to a flowmaster muffler. Sounds very similar to a v8 at idle and at very very low rpms, but once he gets on it.....rice! yeah doesnt sound good at all. Wish those v6's would sound similar to the 350z or G35s but they dont so blah lol.

good luck with it tho man. Best advice from me tho is get an LS1!

Hey man, come ask that question over at Fullthrottlev6.com. We'll hook you up

The 3800 is capable of 800+hp (in mostly stock form) and 8 second 1/4 mile passes. I say it's not the best advice. Working with a v6 is just 'different'.

No one's ever blown one up due to power. We're up to over 800 now. Stock crank, stock block, just forged rods and pistons and you're good. I guess 'mostly stock' is a little over exaggeration, but not too much. The thing that makes the 3800 hard to work with is KR. However, many of those old KR problems are because of heat soak on GTP's. V6 F-bodies don't have near the KR problems the GTP/Regal guys do.

But yeah, I'm not gonna lie, the 3800 is not a good sounding engine by any means.

Tim

The mostly stock part is what got me. Sure it's possible, but ain't nothing close to stock about it.

Just the engine? Sure it's 'close' to stock with just forged rods and pistons (like I said earlier. But you have to realize that the motor is amazingly strong), but the car, hell no. Tim's car is pretty much an all out race car. Go do a little research into Tim King's car. More of the motor is stock than you might be comfortable admitting.
