Default 98 Camaro SS 1/4 mile times

I know these questions are kinda dumb and the answer is to take it to the track, but ours isn't open for another month or so.

After racing 3.8L Supercharged FWD cars for the past 8 years I have found myself a newb again - I now have a 98 Camaro SS A4. What I am wondering is what do these cars typically run in stock form and what could I expect with the mods this car has: Pacesetter Long tubes (looks to be 1-3/4 primaries), 3" dual exhaust with x-pipe and Moroso Spiral flow mufflers dumped, SLP lid, HPTuned by me, drag radials.

I think I saw somewhere that a 13.6 is attainable out of a bone stock car. So I am wondering what the mods I have are worth. Am I still going to be mid 13s? low 13s? 12s?

If everything goes well you should be looking at high 12s. Good luck.

Mid - low 13's. A4's in stock trim are dogs, the exhaust will help you some, but would be very surprised if you ran a 12.

Cool, thats pretty much in-line with what I have seen. The car does have 3.23s FWIW.

do you know if it has been tuned or not? i can see low 13's and very high 12's. your next mod should be a stall

Stock A4's run 13.4 normally. M6's get 12.8's with a decent driver. Your mods should see 12's depending on the tune. Gears & a stall will make the biggest difference on an A4.

I have HPTuners and a wideband, so the tune will be right on. FWIW I raced an 06 GTO last night, a buddy of mine, he typically runs 13.0-12.6 at the track n/a. From a dig I put 10 cars on him easily, but in his defense he spun like a mad man and I just hooked and went. From a 60 roll it was dead even. I can't wait til the track opens! THis car is so much more fun to drive and race than a GTP

Unless you have tunned a lot of ls1's before, the tune will be far from right on.

With a full tune and traction it should produce 12s in good air. My Formula has run 12.90s at 107 with 3.23 gears, lid, K & N, FTRA, ported MAF ends, Flowmaster catback and a custom tune.

Guy I know has a 02 SS with a lid and catback. Ran a 12.87. A4 with stock gears, stall and street tires. Its the fastest stock ls1 I have seen around here. Its insane.

What pisses me off is he runs 8.31 in the 1/8th. With my mods (no spray) I run 8.6's.

Ive tuned a couple LSX cars, my dads 98 Vette and the GTO mentioned above. Actually I tuned this car a year or so ago and he has since taken over and tunes it himself. From what I have heard its actually the fastest stock LS2 motored GTO there is, 11.2s @ 124ish and never even had the valve covers off.

hey ar15 who this from B-ville?............but anyway mine box stock 98M6 with stock lid and all, with my tune went 8.73@87mph on a horrible 2.2 60' spinning hard everyshift, on a slow *** oklahoma 1/8th mile. it would put a car on an untuned full bolt car and tie a good tuned bolt on car. some of them just like to run.lol
