Default Feels like there are gears in my SS...

I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I just got a 1999 SS. I think it has either 3.73s or 4.10s, heres why...The speedo is exactly 10 mph off. When the speedo says 85 mph (which is really 75) the car is turning 2500 rpm. When the speedo says 100mph (really 90) it is turning 3000. Is this normal, or are there gears in this thing?

yes it is. I would assume it is probably the second transmission because the car has 160k. I dont know if it is built or just stock. It chirps second so it may be beefed up a little??

Sounds like it has 3.73s in it.

You can jack the back of the car up and put it on jack stands. Then mark spot on the driveshaft, and put the car in neutral. Have someone turn the rear wheel by hand and count how many times the driveshaft rotates for one complete rotation of the wheels. If it does have 3.73s then the driveshaft will rotate 3 3/4 times per one complete tire rotation

I didn't even think of that. That's simple enough.
