High beam problem need help

Default High beam problem need help

Ok so my highbeams dont work, When i pull it back it doesnt make a noise or anything like a relay... it just pulls back and nothing happens, does anybody know what is going on?

99 z28 m6 if that has anything to do with it.

well if you've done anything around the steering column i would check for a loose connector, if you are lying in your floor board and you look at the steering column there are 3 bolts that attach the column itself, there are connectors lying around there, and one of them goes to your highbeams, just something to rule out i guess

there should be a switch (i think it's called a dimmer switch or something like that) in the underside of the steering column that gets actuated by a rod when you pull the multifunction lever to turn on the high beams. i replaced one years ago. i can't tell you exactly where it is or what it looks like, as i don't remember. i can tell you it's cheap to replace, though.

easiest thing would be to go to a small service garage that does NOT charge to look at problems and see what you need.

^ yep, you need a new switch. mine is the same way right now. it pulls back but has no click.
